Writing effective job applications for Government
Get an interview and win that job!
This half-day course will show you how to maximise your chance of a government job at all stages of the recruitment and selection process. I will show you how to prepare your curriculum vitae to get you noticed by the selection panel. I will step you through the process of writing an application, using plain English and a reader focus, to ensure your application presents you in the best possible light.
The course also helps you prepare for an interview. I show you specific techniques to make the interview less stressful and more likely to result in a job offer. Don't worry - I don't use role-playing in front of the class!
The course focuses on your strengths and shows you how best to convey your skills and experience. I use examples of role descriptions, CVs and applications from real government recruitment processes. As a former head of corporate services in a government department, I also give you first-hand insights from the perspective of the selection panel.
